Overview
A Yamunotri and Gangotri tour package (Do Dham) is a 4to 6-day pilgrimage starting from Haridwar. Package covering private transport, basic to deluxe hotels, and meals, while helicopter packages are also available.
Tour Plan
Drive through the scenic mountains and check into your hotel in Barkot.
Drive to Jankichatti and trek 6 km (or take a pony/doli) to Yamunotri. Take a dip in the hot springs and return to Barkot for the night.
Transfer to the base camp for Gangotri.
Drive from Uttarkashi to Gangotri, offer prayers at the temple, and return to Uttarkashi for an overnight stay.
Morning departure back to Haridwar to conclude the tour.
Important Considerations
- Physical Exertion: Yamunotri is considered a more challenging trek than Gangotri, requiring a steep 6 km climb.
- Altitude: Both shrines sit at high altitudes (Yamunotri: 3,235m; Gangotri: 3,100m). Be sure to carry warm clothing, comfortable trekking shoes, and any necessary medications.
- Transport: If traveling with a larger family, renting a private tempo traveler or Innova from Haridwar is usually the most comfortable and flexible option.
