The Panch Kedar Yatra is a sacred, 9 day Himalayan pilgrimage in Uttarakhand, India, covering five ancient Shiva temples—Kedarnath, Madhyamaheshwar, Tungnath, Rudranath, and Kalpeshwar. According to legend, the Pandavas built these temples to seek forgiveness from Lord Shiva, who manifested in five different forms at these locations:
- Kedarnath (Hump): The main shrine (3,583m), most popular and part of Chota Char Dham.
- Madhyamaheshwar (Belly/Navel): Situated at 3,497m, known for its serene meadows and views.
- Tungnath (Arms): The highest Shiva temple in the world (3,680m).
- Rudranath (Face): A challenging trek (3,550m) considered the most difficult.
- Kalpeshwar (Hair/Jata): Accessible year-round (2,200m).
